Who we are
LolaJackGB is a small, independent editorial team of UK-based writers who have spent years playing, testing and writing about online casinos. We are not the LolaJack casino, we do not run any gambling product, and we cannot open accounts, accept deposits or settle disputes on anyone’s behalf. Our job is to look at a casino the way a careful player would, write down what we find and publish it in plain English.
Our lead reviewer, Oliver Hartley, covers bonus terms and cashier testing. Every review is then fact-checked by Megan Clarke, who re-reads the operator’s terms, checks the numbers we quote and flags anything that has changed since the last test.
How we test a casino
We never rate a casino from its marketing pages alone. Each review follows the same routine:
- Open a real account. We register as an ordinary UK player, using our own details, on desktop and on a phone.
- Complete verification (KYC). We upload ID and proof of address and note how long approval takes and whether the requests are reasonable.
- Deposit with our own money. We deposit with at least two methods, typically a debit card and an e-wallet, and record fees, minimums and how fast funds land.
- Play the lobby. We spend several sessions across slots, live tables and game shows, checking load times, filters, demo modes and whether game rules and RTP figures are easy to find.
- Read the bonus terms line by line. Wagering, maximum bet, game weighting, time limits and withdrawal caps all go into our notes.
- Withdraw and time it. We request a withdrawal with each method used and log the time from request to money arriving. This is usually the single most revealing test.
- Contact support. We open live chat at different times of day and send at least one email, measuring first-response time and whether the answer actually solved the problem.
- Check the safer-gambling tools. We set deposit and loss limits, try a cool-off and confirm self-exclusion is easy to reach.
Our scoring criteria
Each casino gets a score out of 5 in five areas. The areas are weighted by how much they affect a real player’s experience:
| Criterion | Weight | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Games and software | 20% | Size and quality of the lobby, studio range, live casino, search and filters, mobile performance |
| Bonuses and terms | 20% | Headline value versus wagering, max bet, game weighting, expiry and withdrawal caps |
| Payments and payout speed | 25% | Method choice, fees, limits and our timed withdrawal results |
| Security, licensing and safer gambling | 20% | Stated licence and how it can be checked, encryption, KYC, limits, reality checks, self-exclusion |
| Support and mobile | 15% | Live chat and email response times, answer quality, help centre, mobile usability |
How scores are calculated
Each criterion is scored from 1 to 5 in half-point steps, based on the notes from our test. We multiply each score by its weight and add them up to get the overall rating, rounded to one decimal place. A casino cannot score above 3.0 overall if a withdrawal we requested was delayed without explanation or refused on unclear grounds, however strong the rest of the review is.
Player opinions shown on our pages are collected separately and are not part of the editorial score. We show them because they add context, but we keep them apart so a burst of good or bad feedback cannot move our own rating.
How often we update reviews
We re-check the key facts (welcome offer, wagering, payment methods and payout times) at least once a month, and run a fuller re-test roughly every quarter. If an operator changes its terms, or readers tell us something has changed, we check it and update the page. The date at the top of each review shows when it was last checked, and the homepage keeps a short log of what changed.
Affiliate disclosure and editorial independence
This site is free to read because some links on it are affiliate links. If you click through and open an account, we may earn a commission from the operator. That commission never costs you anything extra, and it does not influence our scores: casinos cannot pay for a better rating, see our reviews before they are published or ask us to remove criticism. When a casino performs badly in our tests, we say so.
Responsible gambling
Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over and should be treated as paid entertainment, not a way to make money. It can be addictive and you can lose more than you planned. Set a budget before you play, use deposit and time limits, never chase losses and take regular breaks. If gambling stops being fun, free and confidential help is available in the UK from GamCare (National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133, 24/7), BeGambleAware and GAMSTOP for self-exclusion from UK-licensed sites.
Corrections and feedback
We work hard to keep every figure accurate, but terms change and mistakes happen. If you spot something out of date or wrong on this site, let our editorial team know and we will check it against the operator’s current terms and correct the page if needed. Please note we cannot help with account problems at any casino; those must go to the operator’s own support team.
Read the review
Now you know how we test, see the method in action in our LolaJack review for UK players. If you decide to try the casino after reading it, you can visit LolaJack directly, but please check the current bonus terms first and play within your limits.
